Trent Dawson as Henry Coleman
Biography
Trent Dawson joined the cast of the CBS daytime drama, AS THE WORLD TURNS in the fall of 1999 in the role of Henry Coleman. In 2001, Dawson earned a Soap Opera Digest Award nomination for Outstanding Male Scene Stealer. Dawson was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in 2006 and 2007 for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
Dawson was born in Baton Rouge, LA. He attended Boston University before leaving to spend a year touring Europe. When he returned, he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of Colorado at Boulder. While attending school, he performed in the Colorado Shakespeare Festival and began teaching stage fighting. After graduation, he moved to New York City, got the role of Romeo in "Romeo and Juliet," and began touring in Shakespeare companies all over the country.
He has appeared on Broadway in "The Herbal Bed." Additional shows in New York City include: "As You Like It," "Macbeth," "Love's Labor's Lost," "Much Ado About Nothing," "The Way of the World," and the original work, "Altitude Sickness." Regional credits include: "Lady Windermere's Fan and Misalliance" at Baltimore Center Stage, "School for Scandal" at The McCarter, "The Miser at Geva", and the title role in "Pal Joey" at Prince Music Theater. In all, he has performed in nearly twenty productions of Shakespeare.
Dawson's film credits include Steel Magnolias and Helen. He has also appeared on television on Guiding Light.
Dawson is currently involved with the Humane Society, The Red Cross, and Habitat for Humanity. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking and working out. Dawson lives in New York City with his two cats, Samantha and Kaia.
His birthday is February 4.
